After weeks of swirling speculation, director Anil Ravipudi has finally put all rumours to rest. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the blockbuster filmmaker officially announced his next big project — and it features none other than Daggubati Venkatesh and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram in the lead. The announcement has instantly become one of the most talked-about updates in Tollywood.
In his heartfelt post, Anil Ravipudi wrote: “With the hero who gave the first ‘hundred-crore film’ — Victory @VenkyMama garu. With the hero who gave me the first chance to make a film — @NANDAMURIKALYAN garu. We are coming to you for the first festival of 2027.” With that single message, the director not only confirmed the casting but also revealed that the film is targeting the prestigious Sankranthi 2027 release window — a season synonymous with massive box-office celebrations in Telugu cinema.
This project is particularly special for Ravipudi. His collaboration history with Venkatesh has been nothing short of successful. Their first outing together, F2: Fun and Frustration, turned out to be a blockbuster, followed by the equally entertaining sequel F3: Fun and Frustration. The duo also teamed up for Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, further strengthening their hit combination status. Interestingly, in his recent film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu starring Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh made a memorable special cameo appearance, delighting fans.
Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, meanwhile, holds an emotional place in Ravipudi’s journey. It was Kalyan Ram who first trusted the director and gave him his initial big break in the industry. That professional bond has now come full circle, making this upcoming collaboration deeply personal for the filmmaker. The announcement feels less like a routine casting update and more like a reunion built on gratitude and shared success.
Before the official reveal, several names were linked to the project. Reports suggested that Fahadh Faasil might come on board, while later speculation hinted at Karthi being part of the cast. However, Ravipudi’s post has now clarified the direction completely, ending all guessing games.
The film is expected to go on floors in June. Venkatesh is currently busy with a project directed by Trivikram Srinivas, which is likely to wrap up by then. Once completed, he will join Ravipudi and Kalyan Ram for what promises to be a festive entertainer designed perfectly for Sankranthi audiences. With a proven director-actor combo and an emotionally charged reunion, expectations are already soaring for this 2027 festival treat.
