At the trailer launch of Barroz, Mohanlal's directorial debut, Akshay Kumar expressed his deep admiration for the legendary actor while also highlighting the significance of the film. During the event, Akshay was candid about his admiration for Mohanlal, calling himself a huge fan and sharing his nostalgia about watching Mohanlal's films over the years.
"As usual, I am a big fan of Mohanlal. I have seen a lot of his films. I remember his first film, where he played the villain. Even though I didn’t understand the language, I still watched it with subtitles," Akshay said, reminiscing about his first exposure to Mohanlal's work.
Akshay also took the opportunity to talk about Barroz, shedding light on the movie's plot and the role Mohanlal plays in the film. "I know a bit about this film. Yesterday, Mohanlal Sir gave me a book about it. The film is centered around a treasure, and he is protecting the Vasco da Gama treasure," he explained.
After watching the trailer, Akshay was full of praise, expressing his excitement about the movie. "Wow, this is a great movie! I’ve seen many 3D films, but this one is shot in 3D, which is really commendable," he said. Akshay also pointed out the rarity of such films in India, especially those made with children in mind. "Films like these for kids are very rare in our country," he added.
Akshay shared his personal connection to the film, mentioning that he plans to watch it with his daughter. "I’m going to watch it with my daughter in the theater. It’s a wonderful film.
