Actor Rhea Chakraborty took to social media today with a quiet but powerful post: a picture of her Indian passport in hand, paired with the caption, "Patience was my only passport for the past 5 years. Countless battles. Endless hope. Today, I hold my passport again. Ready for my Chapter2!" The words are measured, but the weight behind them is unmistakable.

After five years marked by legal battles, media trials, and intense public scrutiny in the wake of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death in 2020, the Bombay High Court has directed the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to return Chakraborty's passport. It had been seized following her arrest in September 2020 as part of the NCB’s investigation into alleged drug links connected to the case. Though she was granted bail a month later, the passport condition remained — effectively placing her life and work under limitations.

The court’s recent decision to return the document, though accompanied by conditions like notifying authorities before international travel, represents more than just legal relief. It is a symbolic turning point — the closing of a fraught chapter, and perhaps, the beginning of personal and professional renewal.

For Chakraborty, who remained largely silent through the storm, this post is not just a statement — it’s a reclamation. In an industry and a society quick to pass judgment, her quiet resilience now finds voice in a simple photograph, a caption, and a passport — her literal and metaphorical key to freedom.
