Netflix has unveiled the first teaser trailer for The Beast in Me, an intense, slow-burning crime thriller set to debut this fall. Premiering on November 13, 2025, the series promises a gripping blend of psychological drama and edge-of-your-seat mystery, anchored by a powerhouse cast and a story that blurs the line between hunter and hunted.
Created by writer Gabe Rotter and showrun by Howard Gordon (Homeland, 24), the eight-part series follows Claire Danes as Aggie Wiggs, a grieving mother and acclaimed author still reeling from the loss of her young son. With her life shattered, Aggie becomes obsessed with her enigmatic neighbor Nile Sheldon (played by Matthew Rhys), whose wife has mysteriously vanished. What begins as harmless curiosity turns into a dangerous fixation as Aggie digs into Nile’s dark secrets—and confronts some of her own.
Directed by Antonio Campos (The Staircase, Christine), the series promises a moody, tightly wound narrative full of moral ambiguity and emotional suspense. The official synopsis teases a "cat-and-mouse" game where Aggie, both horrified and mesmerized by Nile, must navigate between truth and delusion, justice and obsession. As she chases his demons, she’s haunted by her own.
The supporting cast is as stacked as the premise: Brittany Snow, Natalie Morales, Jonathan Banks, David Lyons, Tim Guinee, Deidre O’Connell, Aleyse Shannon, Will Brill, Kate Burton, Bill Irwin, Amir Arison, and Julie Ann Emery round out the ensemble.
With writing contributions from Erika Sheffer, CA Johnson, Daniel Pearle, Ali Liebegott, Mike Skerrett, and Gordon himself, The Beast in Me is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most anticipated thrillers of the year—an emotionally charged exploration of grief, guilt, and the monsters we invite into our lives.
