Sumedh Mudgalkar, who captivated millions with his soulful portrayal of Lord Krishna in the television series RadhaKrishn, opened up about how life has transformed post the iconic role. The actor, known for his graceful expressions, powerful performances, and spiritual depth on-screen, shared how embodying the divine character didn’t just change his career, it changed him as a person.
"If we only seek love, at some point we must also learn to give it," Sumedh reflects thoughtfully. "That's something I try to live by. I'm deeply grateful for all the love I've received. When you climb the ladder of success, responsibilities increase not as restrictions, but as responsibilities to be embraced. One should never see growth as a limitation, but as a chance to do what's right once you're in a position to make a difference."
Speaking of playing Lord Krishna, Sumedh shared how the role brought him spiritually closer to the divine. "God is not partial .His blessings are for everyone," he says. "But when you play a role like Krishna, as I was fortunate to do, you start to connect with that energy on a daily basis. You read more, think more, and slowly, the character starts to influence you. You begin to change ,not just as an actor, but as a person."
Sumedh also opened up about the initial pressure he felt stepping into such an iconic role. "When I was offered the role, I didn't know what to do. It was a huge responsibility. I had seen so many portrayals — I was especially impressed by Saurabh Raj Jain and Nitish Bharadwaj. But I realized that the more I tried to mimic them, the more I would lose myself. So I made a decision: I had to play Krishna in my own way."
That decision paid off. Sumedh’s Krishna became one of the most beloved interpretations of the deity in modern times — not because he tried to copy others, but because he dared to be original.
