Sophie Dhawan gave fans a glimpse into a memorable day at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground, where she attended India's high-stakes ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 clash against Australia alongside Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma and former India head coach Ravi Shastri. While the result didn't go India's way, Sophie described her first-ever visit to the historic venue as a "bittersweet" experience filled with unforgettable moments.

The much-anticipated Group A encounter on June 28 attracted several prominent names from Indian cricket, with Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Ravi Shastri spotted in the pavilion stands cheering for Harmanpreet Kaur and her team. Their presence added to the excitement as thousands of fans packed the stadium for one of the biggest matches of the tournament.

After the game, Sophie took to Instagram to share a carousel of pictures from the special outing. The collection featured candid moments with her husband Shikhar Dhawan, along with photographs alongside Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma and Ravi Shastri. She also posted warm selfies with Shikhar and Anushka, offering followers a behind-the-scenes look at the star-studded gathering inside the Home of Cricket.

Sharing her emotions about visiting Lord's for the first time, Sophie reflected on the electric atmosphere despite India's heartbreaking defeat.

"A bittersweet visit for my first time watching a game at Lords but what an atmosphere. 27,163 fans, a record-breaking crowd, and another reminder of just how far the women's game has come."

Her words celebrated not only the incredible turnout at the stadium but also the remarkable growth of women's cricket, with the record attendance highlighting the sport's increasing popularity across the globe.

On the field, Australia produced a stunning chase to secure a six-wicket victory and book their place in the semi-finals, ending India's campaign in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026. Chasing a challenging target of 171, Australia recovered brilliantly after slipping to 72 for 3, thanks to unbeaten half-centuries from Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner, eventually reaching 172 for 4 in the 19th over.

Earlier in the evening, India posted a competitive 170 for 4, led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who smashed an explosive 56 off just 27 balls. Valuable contributions from Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma gave India a strong platform, but Australia's composed batting display ultimately proved too strong on the day.

Although India's World Cup journey came to a disappointing end, Sophie's heartfelt post captured another side of the occasion—celebrating the atmosphere, the record-breaking crowd and the growing global appeal of women's cricket, while sharing memorable moments with some of the biggest names in Indian cricket.
