Playback singer Sudhir Yaduvanshi is finally getting the spotlight he long deserved after his powerful vocals in the viral Dhurandhar tracks took social media by storm. Known to many as the voice behind the hugely popular segment in Naade Dil Pardesi Nu and the energetic track Aari Aari, Sudhir has now opened up about his emotional journey, his struggles in the music industry, and how composer Shashwat Sachdev completely changed his life.
Speaking candidly in an interview, Sudhir showered praise on Shashwat Sachdev and compared his musical impact to legendary composers like Pritam and A. R. Rahman. He said, “Everyone is familiar with Shashwat Sachdev Sir these days; he has truly shouldered the entire responsibility of the music scene. I feel that Shashwat Sachdev Sir has similarly set a benchmark of his own; he has delivered a unique style of music—something that is destined to linger in people's hearts and minds for years to come.”
Sudhir revealed that before the explosive success of Dhurandhar, he had already worked with Shashwat on several projects, including Kama Kama from the film Kill and the folk-inspired Chhalla from the Dark Matter Symphony project. However, he admitted that many of their collaborations never saw release. “There are about seven or eight such songs—the kind that get ‘bounced,’ as they say in the industry. They get rejected; they just don't make the final cut,” he shared.
What makes Sudhir’s story even more fascinating is that he initially had no idea his vocals were being used in Dhurandhar. According to the singer, he simply recorded his portion without knowing the scale of the project. “At that time, I had absolutely no clue—that a film titled Dhurandhar was in the works, or that it was destined to become the biggest film of the year. I had no idea about the massive scale of the production or the star-studded cast involved; I simply sang the song and then completely forgot about it.”
Months later, when the trailer dropped featuring his vocals, Sudhir still didn’t realize what was about to happen. But once Naade Dil Pardesi Nu exploded online, his life changed overnight. “People really loved it, though they didn't realize that the singer behind that specific part—a guy named Sudhir—was the one who had sung it. It went viral everywhere—it absolutely blew up across platforms like Reels and similar apps.”
The singer also revealed how desperately he wished for a bigger role in Dhurandhar 2. Without directly asking for the opportunity, he quietly hoped for it. “Last time, it was just 17 seconds long. Oh God, how wonderful it would be if I could get an even bigger part this time around!” he recalled emotionally.
Sudhir then narrated the unforgettable night that changed everything. Around 3:30 AM while in Mumbai, he received a sudden call for a recording session. What he thought was just another scratch track eventually became a career-defining moment. “I started getting a distinct vibe—a powerful feeling. I told myself, ‘This song is going to blow up! This track is destined to be a massive hit.’ I felt that if the entire song—from start to finish—were to be released in my voice, I would undoubtedly become a star overnight.”
Though changes were later made to the final version, Sudhir’s vocals remained central to the song — especially the now-iconic opening section and the viral Ranveer scene that audiences endlessly shared online. Today, fans are finally recognizing the voice behind the sensation, and Sudhir Yaduvanshi’s inspiring journey is becoming one of the music industry’s most talked-about success stories.
