ZEE5 has announced that Satluj, the much-discussed film starring Diljit Dosanjh, has been temporarily removed from its streaming platform in India. The announcement came just days after the film's digital premiere on July 3, with the platform sharing an emotional note thanking viewers for their overwhelming support. While confirming the temporary unavailability, ZEE5 assured audiences that it remains committed to bringing the film back as soon as possible through the appropriate process.

Sharing the update on social media, ZEE5 wrote that the response to Satluj had been "truly overwhelming" and expressed gratitude to every viewer who subscribed, watched, and supported the film. The platform reiterated its belief in the film's creative vision, stating that powerful storytelling has the ability to inspire, endure, and leave a lasting impact. It also emphasized its continued commitment to authentic and meaningful narratives despite the current situation.

The streaming service explained that, due to "current developments," Satluj would remain unavailable in India until further notice. However, ZEE5 made it clear that it is actively exploring every appropriate legal and procedural avenue to restore the film for Indian audiences at the earliest opportunity. The platform also reaffirmed its support for filmmakers and stories created with conviction, artistic integrity, and purpose.

Originally developed under the title Punjab 95, the film is directed by Honey Trehan and stars Diljit Dosanjh as human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. The story is inspired by Khalra's efforts to document alleged enforced disappearances and thousands of unidentified cremations during Punjab's militancy era in the 1990s. Over the years, the project became one of the most talked-about films due to its prolonged certification process, multiple suggested cuts, and eventual title change before its release.

Despite the controversies surrounding its journey to release, Satluj received widespread appreciation from viewers after arriving on ZEE5. Audiences praised Diljit Dosanjh's performance, Honey Trehan's direction, and the film's emotionally charged storytelling. The positive response quickly translated into strong online discussions, with many calling it one of the most significant releases of the year.

The decision to remove the film from ZEE5 in India has sparked disappointment among viewers, many of whom took to social media to express their frustration and urge the platform to restore access. At the same time, discussions about artistic freedom, historical storytelling, and content availability have continued to gain momentum. While Satluj remains unavailable for Indian subscribers, it continues to stream on ZEE5 Global for audiences outside India, keeping the conversation surrounding the film alive.

With ZEE5 expressing confidence in the film and promising to pursue every possible avenue for its return, fans are now eagerly waiting for an official update on when Satluj will once again be available to Indian audiences.
