The world’s most lovable rivals are back, and this time Tom and Jerry are taking their never-ending chase somewhere they have never been before! Zee Studios has dropped the teaser for Tom and Jerry: Forbidden Compass, teasing a wild new adventure that combines the classic cat-and-mouse chaos with magic, mystery and a fantastical world. Sharing the teaser, Zee Studios wrote, “Chaos? Expected. A mysterious new adventure? Not so much Presenting the biggest and most lovable rivalry ever - Tom and Jerry Forbidden Compass.” The film is set to bring the iconic duo to Indian cinemas on October 23, 2026, just in time for the festive season.
The teaser promises everything fans expect from Tom and Jerry — wild chases, comic destruction and the two rivals constantly finding new ways to drive each other crazy. But this time, their usual game of chase takes an unexpected turn when they accidentally activate a mysterious magical compass during a visit to a museum. Instead of simply running around the exhibits, Tom and Jerry are suddenly transported into an extraordinary world filled with strange forces, new companions and a much bigger adventure than either of them could have imagined.
And for perhaps the first time, the two enemies may actually have to work together! The story throws Tom and Jerry into a fantastical setting inspired by Chinese mythology, where their usual rivalry takes a back seat as they attempt to figure out how to get home. Of course, expecting them to suddenly become best friends would be asking too much. Their trademark bickering and chaos remain intact, but the new adventure gives their relationship an entirely different twist as they find themselves facing mysterious forces together.
Tom and Jerry: Forbidden Compass blends the instantly recognisable Hanna-Barbera characters with a much larger fantasy world. The China-US co-production was previously released in China in 2025 before arriving in the US in September 2026, and now Indian audiences are getting their chance to experience the latest big-screen adventure. The film is directed and written by Gang Zhang, with Ruoqing Fu, Jasmine Gao, Shaojing Yang, Huixia Zhang and Bofei Chen serving as producers.
The voice cast includes John Shang, Yifei Ruan, Kyle McCarley, Brent Mukai, Cory Yee, Todd Haberkorn, Ryan Garcia, Miya Kodama, Andrew Kishino, Eduardo de los Reyes and Andrew Grace. The new characters and fantastical setting promise to expand the familiar Tom and Jerry universe while still keeping the mischievous spirit that has made the duo global favourites for generations. Whether they are battling each other or reluctantly teaming up, there is clearly plenty of trouble waiting around every corner.
With October 23 locked in as the Indian theatrical release date, Tom and Jerry: Forbidden Compass looks ready to add some animated madness to the festive season.
