Liam Neeson is back in action mode, and this time the mission is taking him straight into the heart of Tehran. Inaugural Entertainment and Briarcliff Entertainment have unveiled the second trailer for The Fix, an upcoming action thriller starring Neeson alongside Zachary Levi, Numan Acar, Wes Chatham and Titus Welliver. The film combines military drama, high-stakes action and a redemption story as a group of war-torn former CIA operatives take on one last dangerous mission.
At the centre of The Fix is a group of disgraced and battle-scarred ex-CIA operators who have been left disillusioned after the end of the war in Afghanistan. Their past catches up with them after a mission goes tragically wrong, leaving the team searching for a way to rebuild their lives and regain a sense of purpose. What follows is a risky journey into Tehran, where they attempt a daring rescue that could change everything.
Liam Neeson plays Larry, an experienced operative who mentors the younger members of the team. Zachary Levi takes on the role of Tucker, who leads the group as they enter increasingly dangerous territory. The pairing gives the film an interesting dynamic, with Larry bringing years of experience to the table while Tucker finds himself responsible for leading a team whose members are already carrying the emotional scars of war.
The second trailer promises plenty of action, with tense confrontations, gunfights, explosions and moments where the mission appears to spiral out of control. But The Fix is not being positioned as an action movie that is all noise and no heart. The story places considerable emphasis on the emotional baggage carried by its characters, particularly their failed mission in Afghanistan and their desire to find redemption.
The Tehran setting also gives the movie an additional layer of tension. Moving the story from the aftermath of the Afghanistan war into Iran places the characters in unfamiliar and potentially hostile surroundings. Every decision could have serious consequences, making the rescue mission less about simply getting in and getting out and more about whether the team can trust each other when everything starts falling apart.
The film brings together a strong supporting cast, with Numan Acar, Wes Chatham and Titus Welliver joining Neeson and Levi. The ensemble is particularly suited to a story built around a team of experienced operators, with each character expected to bring a different personality and skill set to the mission.
Interestingly, The Fix was previously known as Hotel Tehran. The film is directed by Guy Moshe, who has worked across genre filmmaking, while the screenplay comes from Ron Hutchinson, based on a story by Mark Bacci, Baz and Guy Moshe. The filmmakers appear to be aiming for a combination of large-scale cinematic spectacle and grounded emotional stakes.
For Liam Neeson, the project arrives as another opportunity to embrace the action-thriller territory that has become an important part of his screen career. However, The Fix appears to give him something slightly different this time, with his character serving as a mentor rather than simply being the unstoppable hero who solves every problem himself.
The film also has the ingredients of a classic team-based thriller: a failed mission, damaged soldiers, one final chance at redemption and a destination where the margin for error is practically nonexistent. If the movie manages to balance those emotional elements with the explosive action promised by the trailer, The Fix could offer audiences more than a routine rescue thriller.
The Fix is scheduled to arrive on September 11, 2026. With Liam Neeson leading the cast, Zachary Levi heading the mission and Tehran providing the backdrop for a dangerous rescue, the film is shaping up as an intriguing option for fans of military and espionage action.
