Malayalam star Nivin Pauly turned 42, and the makers of the upcoming Tamil action thriller Benz marked the occasion by unveiling a striking birthday poster showcasing his intense look as Walter. Production house Passion Studios shared the poster on Sunday, giving fans another glimpse of the actor's transformation into a character who promises to bring a new level of menace to the film. With its dark, cinematic presentation, the poster puts the spotlight on Walter's attitude and screen presence, building anticipation for Nivin's role in the highly awaited project associated with Lokesh Kanagaraj's Cinematic Universe.
Sharing the birthday poster on X, Passion Studios celebrated the actor with a caption that captured the character's larger-than-life personality. The production house wrote, “The attitude. The aura. The madness. Wishing the man behind the iconic Walter a very Happy Birthday @NivinOfficial @offl_Lawrence @iam_RaviMohan @Dir_Lokesh @PassionStudios_ @TheRoute @GSquadOffl @Sudhans2017 @Jagadishbliss @PradeepBoopath2 @bakkiyaraj_k @SaiAbhyankkar.” The post quickly drew attention to Nivin's appearance as Walter, with the makers highlighting the very qualities that make the character stand out. The birthday wish also brought together several of the names associated with the film, underlining the collaborative team behind the project.
Benz is the fourth instalment in the Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe, popularly known as the LCU, which has developed a strong following among fans of Tamil action cinema. The film features Raghava Lawrence in the titular role, with Bakkiyaraj Kannan directing the project. Lokesh Kanagaraj has co-written the story and is also co-producing the venture through his production house. The film's place within the expanding cinematic universe has generated interest among audiences eager to see how its characters and narrative fit into the larger franchise. While the makers have kept several plot details under wraps, the combination of an established action star and a fresh character dynamic has helped keep the project in the spotlight.
One of the biggest talking points surrounding Benz is Nivin Pauly's reported dual role, which includes his first turn as a villain. The actor, known for his work across Malayalam cinema, appears to be exploring a markedly different space with Walter, a character whose presentation suggests intensity and unpredictability. The birthday poster leans into that darker persona, emphasising the attitude and madness highlighted by the production house. His involvement adds an intriguing dimension to a film led by Raghava Lawrence, particularly as viewers wait to discover how the two actors' characters will shape the action thriller's central conflict.
The film also features Samyuktha, known for her role in Vaathi, in the female lead role. Another notable addition is composer Sai Abhyankkar, who is set to make his cinema debut with the project. His involvement has added another point of interest for audiences following the film's development. With Bakkiyaraj Kannan at the helm and Lokesh Kanagaraj contributing to the story and production, Benz brings together talent from different corners of the Tamil film industry. The team is continuing work on the film, although a release date and further details about the complete storyline have not yet been announced in the supplied information.
For Nivin Pauly, the birthday poster offers a celebratory moment while also putting the focus firmly on his upcoming role. The transformation into Walter could mark a significant departure from the characters audiences have seen him portray previously, especially given the reported villainous dimension of the performance. For fans of the LCU, the film represents another expansion of a universe built around interconnected action stories and distinctive characters. As production progresses, the makers' birthday tribute has given viewers a fresh reason to look forward to Benz, with Walter's attitude, aura and madness now taking centre stage.
