The actor passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026, after suffering a severe cardiac arrest in Goa. According to ANI, Dr Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, confirmed that doctors attempted to revive the actor for approximately 45 minutes but were unable to save him. His passing has left fans, colleagues and members of the film fraternity mourning the loss of a performer whose remarkable career spanned several decades.
 
Nana Patekar’s mortal remains were brought to the cremation ground in Pune, where admirers gathered to pay their final respects. Fans offered floral tributes and garlands as they came together to honour the actor and celebrate his extraordinary contribution to Indian cinema. The final rites were conducted with full state honours, reflecting the stature he earned through his work and lasting influence on the film industry. Nana Patekar began his acting journey with the 1978 film Gaman and gradually established himself as one of Hindi cinema’s most compelling performers.
