The wait is finally over as the trailer of Mirzapur The Movie has arrived, bringing the much-loved crime saga from the streaming world to the big screen. Excel Entertainment unveiled the trailer with a hard-hitting dialogue that sets the mood for the film: “Gaddi na toh viraasat se milti hai, na siyasat se. Milti hai toh sirf aur sirf Baahubal se aur tikti hai darr pe.” The trailer instantly makes it clear that the fight for power in Mirzapur is far from over, and this time the battle is bigger, louder and designed for a theatrical experience.
The film brings back some of the most popular faces from the Mirzapur universe, including Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya and Divyenndu as Munna Tripathi. Jitendra Kumar also returns as Bablu Pandit, while Ravi Kishan and a large ensemble add further firepower to the cast. With familiar characters stepping into a new chapter, the trailer promises plenty of revenge, violence, power games and unexpected confrontations.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, Mirzapur The Movie expands the world created by the hit series into a larger cinematic canvas. The story stays rooted in the ruthless power struggle that has defined Mirzapur, where political influence, family legacy and sheer muscle decide who gets to sit on the throne. The theatrical format appears to have allowed the makers to scale up the action while retaining the raw and gritty flavour that made the franchise a fan favourite.
The trailer also brings back the franchise's trademark atmosphere of fear and unpredictability. Guddu's hunger for control, Kaleen Bhaiya's calculated presence and the return of several familiar faces suggest that alliances could change at any moment. With new players entering the equation, the question is no longer simply who wants the gaddi, but who has enough power to keep it once they get there.
Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment, the film features an extensive ensemble cast including Ravi Kishan, Rasika Dugal, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Gaur, Sushant Singh, Mohit Malik, Sheeba Chaddha, Rajesh Tailang, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sonal Chauhan, Anangsha Biswas and several others. The combination of returning favourites and fresh faces gives the film a much larger scope while keeping its connection to the original universe intact.
Mirzapur The Movie is set to hit cinemas on September 4, 2026, releasing in Hindi and Telugu. After becoming one of India's most talked-about crime franchises on OTT, the move to theatres marks a major new chapter for Mirzapur. If the trailer is anything to go by, the big-screen version is ready to turn the familiar fight for the gaddi into a full-blown cinematic spectacle packed with blood, betrayal, revenge and baahubal.
