The wait is almost over, and the world of Mirzapur is ready to get louder, darker and considerably more chaotic on the big screen. Excel Entertainment has dropped a brand-new promo for Mirzapur The Movie, bringing Ali Fazal’s Guddu Pandit and Divyenndu’s Munna Bhaiya back into the same explosive frame. With just 10 days to go before its theatrical release, the latest promo is clearly designed to remind fans that the rivalry that made the franchise a pop-culture phenomenon is far from finished.
The 20-second promo wastes absolutely no time getting into the action. Convoys speed through rural roads, guns come out, vehicles race across the landscape and confrontations quickly turn violent. Ali Fazal’s Guddu can be seen behind the wheel in a yellow shirt, shouting as the tension rises around him. The promo closes with the theatrical announcement, making it clear that this battle is moving from the streaming world to the big screen on September 4, 2026.
Excel Entertainment summed up the central conflict perfectly with its caption: “Guddu and Munna. The race is fast, the collision even faster.” That line captures the mood of the promo, where every vehicle chase and stare-down feels like it could explode into another fight. For fans who have followed the complicated journey of Guddu Pandit and Munna Tripathi, their return together is arguably the biggest reason to turn up in theatres.
Mirzapur The Movie is a theatrical continuation of the hugely popular crime franchise and brings back several familiar faces from the series. Alongside Ali Fazal and Divyenndu, the cast includes Pankaj Tripathi, Jitendra Kumar, Vijay Varma, Rasika Dugal, Ravi Kishan, Abhishek Banerjee, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Gaur, Mohit Raina and a large ensemble of returning and new performers. With such a packed cast, the movie is expected to expand the world that audiences have already spent several seasons exploring.
The film is directed by Gurmmeet Singh, who has been closely associated with the Mirzapur universe, while Puneet Krishna has written the story. Excel Entertainment's Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar are producing the film, with Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani serving as co-producers. The combination of the franchise's established creative team and its returning cast gives the theatrical adaptation a familiar identity while raising the scale considerably.
What makes the theatrical release particularly interesting is the move from the relatively controlled viewing environment of a streaming platform to a cinema hall. Mirzapur has always thrived on big personalities, sharp confrontations, brutal action and quotable moments. On the big screen, those elements have the opportunity to become even more immersive, especially when a character like Munna Bhaiya walks back into the story with Guddu Pandit waiting on the other side.
The film will release in both Hindi and Telugu, opening the franchise to audiences beyond its established Hindi-speaking fanbase. The September 4 release date also gives the movie a major theatrical window around Janmashtami, potentially adding to the festive buzz surrounding its arrival. For a franchise that has built an enormous following through streaming, the challenge now is to convince fans that this is a story worth leaving the sofa for.
And judging by the new promo, Mirzapur The Movie is certainly not arriving quietly. Guddu is back, Munna is back, the guns are loaded and the roads are once again looking like a very bad place to be. With only 10 days left, the biggest question is no longer whether these two will collide — it is just how explosive that collision will be when it finally hits the big screen.
