Maddock Films just set the stage for a larger-than-life Diwali with the release of four striking new posters for Thamma — and they’re anything but subtle. The images feature Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal as massive, god-like figures encased in scaffolding, towering over what appears to be a surreal landscape. The message is loud and clear: this isn’t just another horror-comedy — it’s a whole universe.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Fulara, Thamma is the fifth chapter in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. Following the spooky-success trail of Stree, Roohi, Bhediya, and Munjya, this latest installment promises a twist: a "bloody love story" wrapped in supernatural madness. From the looks of the teaser (now officially out), it’s got action, eerie vibes, quirky humor — and yes, a lot of blood.
Set across Delhi, Mumbai, and Ooty, Thamma brings together an electric cast with Ayushmann and Rashmika at the center of what looks like a doomed romance, with Nawazuddin and Paresh Rawal possibly playing otherworldly gatekeepers, monsters, or even cursed versions of… themselves? The posters alone raise more questions than answers, and that’s exactly the point.
The film is produced by horror-comedy veterans Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, who’ve essentially built an MCU-style universe out of desi spirits and cursed towns. The music, composed by hitmakers Sachin–Jigar, is expected to blend romance, thrills, and folk beats, while cinematographer Saurabh Goswami seems to be crafting a world both grounded and mythic. Fans can expect a theatrical release on 19 October 2025, right in time to light up Diwali with some supernatural fire.
With the teaser already out and the posters flooding timelines, Thamma is shaping up to be the biggest, boldest entry in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe yet. One thing's for sure — this Diwali, we’re not just lighting diyas. We’re summoning something… much bigger.
