After suffering a knee injury while shooting an action sequence for his upcoming Kabir Khan sports drama, Kartik has shared his first social media update from his recovery, and the actor managed to find a hilarious twist in an otherwise painful situation.
Kartik gave fans a glimpse of his recovery journey through a series of pictures and videos. One of the images shows him wearing a knee brace, while another carries the amusing message, “Foot out of service.” The actor also included glimpses from his training for the film, offering a reminder of the physical preparation that went into the role before his injury brought things to a temporary halt.
The most entertaining part of the update came in Kartiks caption. Referring to filmmaker Kabir Khan, he wrote, “Kabir sir said - Break a leg.” What is usually an expression of encouragement before a performance has taken on a rather literal meaning for Kartik, making the caption one of the lighter celebrity injury updates fans are likely to see.
The actor also shared a black and white picture from the Mumbai hospital where he underwent surgery. Sitting on a hospital bed with IV cannulas in his left hand, Kartik looked considerably more subdued in the photograph. According to his spokesperson, the surgery was successful and the actor has now returned home to recover.
The injury happened while Kartik was filming an action sequence for Kabir Khans upcoming sports drama. The project has required the actor to put in considerable physical preparation, making the setback particularly unfortunate. However, with the surgery completed successfully, Kartik is now expected to take some time away from work and focus on his recovery.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Kartik has injured his knee while working on a film. The actor previously suffered a knee injury during the shoot of Shehzada, which eventually released in 2023. His latest accident once again highlights the risks actors can face while performing demanding action sequences.
Kartik has nevertheless chosen to keep the mood light. The pictures from his hospital stay combined with his playful caption show that the actor is trying to look at the situation positively. His “Foot out of service” line has also given fans something to smile about while they wait for an update on his recovery.
The injury comes at a busy point in Kartiks career. He was most recently seen in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri and has several projects lined up, including Naagzilla, an upcoming film directed by Anurag Basu and the untitled Kabir Khan project.
For now, the action hero has been forced to swap film sets for recovery at home. While the cameras may have stopped rolling temporarily, Kartiks latest update proves that his ability to entertain has not gone anywhere.
