Actress Janhvi Kapoor has opened up about her dramatic transformation in Peddi, revealing that she completely trusted director Buchi Babu Sana’s unusual and unconventional vision while shaping her character in the film.
At the grand trailer launch event of Peddi, Janhvi admitted that even she was surprised by the eccentric mannerisms and attitude demanded for her role. The actress revealed that Buchi Babu gave her highly unusual directions throughout the filming process, helping her break out of her comfort zone completely.
“To be honest, Sir, I was simply going entirely by his conviction. He would give me very unconventional directions—telling me, ‘Do this with your tongue,’ or ‘Do this with your skirt,’ or ‘Speak in this specific manner.’ The mannerisms and the attitude of this character are truly unique—quite eccentric and offbeat,” Janhvi revealed.
The actress confessed that she fully surrendered herself to the filmmaker’s creative instincts and trusted his process entirely. In a humorous moment, she even jokingly requested critics to credit Buchi Babu for her performance if they ended up liking her in the film.
“So, yes, I surrendered completely to his vision. Komal Sir, when you write your review—whatever you think of my performance—please make sure to give him the credit!” she laughed.
Janhvi further explained that Peddi became a deeply transformative experience for her personally and professionally. The actress said the film helped her become more expressive and emotionally open over the last two years.
“But really, it was so exciting because, in my opinion, over these past two years, I have really opened up. And the entire credit for that goes to this film—and to Buchi Sir. So, thank you, Sir,” she added.
Her candid comments quickly grabbed attention online, with fans praising her honesty and dedication toward experimenting with a completely different character. Many viewers also pointed out that Janhvi’s rustic and bold avatar in the trailer looks unlike anything she has done before.
The trailer of Peddi showcases a gritty rural sports drama featuring Ram Charan in a physically demanding role involving cricket, wrestling, and sprinting. Backed by Vriddhi Cinemas and featuring music by AR Rahman, the film has already emerged as one of the biggest talking points in Telugu cinema.
With Janhvi Kapoor promising a completely new side of herself on screen, anticipation around Peddi continues to grow rapidly ahead of its release.
