Jai Randhawa has shared an emotional message following the launch of the Ishqnama trailer, calling the occasion one of the most meaningful moments of his career. The actor, who plays Nimma in the upcoming Punjabi period romance, spoke about unveiling the trailer in Punjab and thanked audiences for supporting him throughout his journey.
Expressing his gratitude, Jai said, "There couldn't have been a more meaningful place to unveil the trailer of Ishqnama than Punjab. This land has shaped me and given me an identity that I will forever be grateful for. The love I've received here over the years is beyond anything I can put into words, and to be here alongside Shehnaaz and Arvvindr, artists who have been showered with the same unconditional affection, made this launch very special."
The actor revealed that Ishqnama is much more than a romantic film. According to him, it explores themes of sacrifice, longing, destiny, and the difficult choices that shape people's lives. Based on the true story of Nimma and Naseema, the film follows a Sikh poet from Indian Punjab and a Muslim woman from Pakistani Punjab whose love story unfolds across the India-Pakistan border during the 1980s.
Talking about portraying Nimma, Jai added, "The story of this film goes beyond romance to explore sacrifice, longing, destiny, and the choices that define us. In many ways, bringing Nimma to life is my humble way of thanking the audience that has stood by me through every phase of my journey. Whatever I am today is because of their faith and love. Directed by Arvvindr S. Khaira, Ishqnama stars Shehnaaz Gill, Jai Randhawa, and Saurabh Sachdeva. Inspired by the acclaimed book Hind Pak Bordernama, the film features music by B Praak with lyrics by Jaani and is scheduled to release worldwide across India, Canada, and the UK on July 24, 2026.
