Veteran actor Anupam Kher has officially revealed his character from the upcoming film Shri Rambhoomi, sharing details about the role after pictures from the shoot surfaced online. The actor took to social media to announce that he will be portraying late Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Shri Ashok Singhal, a key figure associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.
Sharing a series of pictures from the film’s shoot, Anupam Kher wrote, “Now that some pictures of the character I'm portraying have surfaced in the media, I thought I'd tell you all myself about the role you'll see me in. In the film ‘Shri Rambhoomi,’ I am playing the role of Shri Ashok Singhal ji!!” The actor also shared glimpses of his transformed look, featuring white hair, a traditional appearance, and a tilak, giving audiences an early look at his portrayal.
In his detailed note, Kher described Ashok Singhal as a personality who gave direction to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement through devotion, determination, and dedication. He added that portraying such a historical figure on screen comes with a major responsibility and said he would approach the role with honesty and sensitivity.
