Akshay Kumar has turned up the heat on his upcoming thriller Haiwaan with two striking new posters, and this time, the actor is asking audiences a very different question: Hero ya Haiwaan? Sharing the intense visuals on social media, Akshay wrote, “Vengeance is my reason. Every sense is his weapon. Whose side are you on? Hero ya Haiwaan?” He also confirmed that the much-awaited teaser is set to arrive tomorrow, adding another layer of mystery around his character.

The posters immediately set a dark and menacing tone for Haiwaan, with Akshay appearing to embrace a much more dangerous screen persona. The line about vengeance being his reason suggests that his character is driven by a deeply personal mission, while the contrasting phrase “Every sense is his weapon” hints at the sharp, calculated nature of Saif Ali Khan’s character. The promotional campaign is clearly positioning the two actors on opposite sides of an intense game of survival.

Haiwaan is directed by veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan and brings Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan together on screen after nearly two decades. Their reunion has already become one of the film’s biggest talking points, but the latest posters suggest that nostalgia will take a back seat to a gritty battle of wits. The first-look campaign had previously teased the stark contrast between the two characters, with Akshay emerging as the threatening force and Saif as the determined figure caught in the middle of the conflict.

The film is an official Hindi remake of Priyadarshan’s 2016 Malayalam thriller Oppam, but Haiwaan appears to be giving the material its own Hindi-cinema treatment. Instead of relying solely on conventional action, the film is being presented as a suspense-driven confrontation where character, instinct and vengeance are equally important. Priyadarshan has also described the story as a cat-and-mouse chase, making the clash between Akshay and Saif central to the film’s appeal.

Interestingly, Haiwaan also represents a major change of pace for Akshay, who is stepping into a considerably darker space. Recent reports have highlighted the actor’s menacing role as a villain, with Priyadarshan deliberately looking to move him away from his familiar comic and heroic image. That makes the upcoming teaser particularly intriguing because it could finally reveal just how far Akshay has pushed himself for this character.

The makers have already locked September 11, 2026 as the worldwide theatrical release date for Haiwaan. The film also stars Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher, adding further depth to its ensemble. With the teaser now arriving, expectations are rising around whether Akshay’s “Haiwaan” will dominate the screen or whether Saif’s character will find a way to turn the tables.

For now, Akshay Kumar has thrown the question straight at the audience — Hero ya Haiwaan? The answer may have to wait until the teaser drops, but one thing is already clear: Haiwaan is preparing to show audiences a side of Akshay that promises to be far more ruthless, unpredictable and unsettling than usual.
