Bollywood witnessed an emotional yet dignified moment on Monday as Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Abhay Deol came together for the special screening of Ikkis, the final onscreen appearance of legendary actor Dharmendra. The screening wasn’t just about cinema—it was about legacy, pride, and a family bidding farewell to one of Indian cinema’s most iconic stars.

Sunny Deol arrived at the venue visibly emotional but maintained his composure as he warmly posed for the paparazzi. The most striking moment came when he stood beside the film’s poster featuring his father Dharmendra’s photograph. The image alone was enough to stir emotions among fans and industry insiders, symbolising the end of an era in Bollywood.

Bobby Deol also attended the screening with his wife Tanya Deol, son Aryaman, and cousin Abhay Deol. The Deol family’s united presence added depth to the evening, reflecting their support for Dharmendra’s final cinematic journey. Their appearance turned the screening into a deeply personal family tribute rather than just another film event.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis marks Dharmendra’s last film role. The veteran actor passed away on November 24 at the age of 89, leaving behind a legacy that shaped generations of Indian cinema. His presence in Ikkis has already made the film emotionally significant even before its release.

Ikkis is a biographical war drama based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, a Param Vir Chakra awardee who attained martyrdom at the age of 21 during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 India–Pakistan War. The film’s title directly references his young age at the time of supreme sacrifice, adding powerful symbolism to the narrative.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Binny Padda, the film stars Agastya Nanda in his first theatrical release, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat, Simar Bhatia, and Dharmendra in his final role. The story not only chronicles Arun Khetarpal’s bravery and sacrifice but also depicts events that unfold when Brigadier ML Khetarpal visits Pakistan 30 years later, adding an emotional and reflective layer to the war drama.

Originally slated for a theatrical release on December 25, 2025, Ikkis has now been postponed to January 1, 2026. With its powerful subject, stellar cast, and emotional significance, the film is already being seen as one of the most anticipated and meaningful releases of the year.

As the Deol family stood together at the screening, the moment felt like a quiet salute—to a fallen war hero on screen, and to a legendary actor whose contribution to Indian cinema will never be forgotten.
