Based on the events that took place between the Indian and Chinese troops at the Galwan region on June 15, 2020 when 200 Indian soldiers bravely defended their territory against a force of 1200 Chinese Liberation Army soldiers. Maatrubhumi (originally titled Battle of Galwan) is an upcoming Hindi-language patriotic war film starring Salman Khan and Chitrangada Singh. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Salma Khan, the film is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash and features Khan as Colonel B. Santosh Babu.
