Movie Review
Rating :
Verdict : Watch it for Ranvijay's flawless comic timing and a good plot
Zayed Khan who never managed to make it big, seems to have some chance with Sharafat Gayi Tele Lene. A film which can be seen as a comedy/thriller has managed to make its presence felt in otherwise 100cr. film industry. Lets see what makes the film to be remembered and what makes it a flop.
Story : -
The strongest part of the film is its story. The plot is not very novel but not even cliche. 'Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene' is the story of a simple man Prithvi Khurana (Zayed Khan), whose world turns upside down when he discovers a sum of hundred crores in his account. Even before the news can sink in his system, he gets a call from an 'unknown number' with caller claiming that his name is 'Dawood'. The mere name is reason enough for Prithvi to have a nervous breakdown. Dawood then, 'orders' Prithvi to get into a mutually profitable deal with him, the details of which will be told to him from time to time. Prithvi immediately calls up his roommate Sam (Ranvijay Singh) who is good for nothing. A character like Farooq Shaikh in Katha. and together they start following the orders and instructions of the don, Seeing Prithvi behave 'abnormally', his ever-so-concerned girlfriend Megha (Tena Desae), who is a TV journalist by profession, immediately calls her top-cop uncle G.S. Chaddha, who then, starts tracking Prithvi's phone calls. Prithvi's confidence levels take a U-turn when he discovers that D.K. Thawani is actually Dawood's man in disguise of a bank manager. In the mean time Prithvi hears the breaking news about Dawood's sudden death on TV channels. which implies that Prithvi becomes the sole owner of the whopping amount that lies in his bank account. And then its like Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene.... what follows next is a common, middle class man's stand towards all this.
Positive Points : -
Positive point of the film is its plot and storyline. The story is different and interesting, due to which you are engaged in the film. This movie could have been a good thriller. Zayed Khan does a good job and slips easily inside its skin. Tena Desae was cute in her parts. And Ranvijay was too good, There are some enjoyable scenes like Zayed's reaction over the sudden money followed by Zayed's visit to Anupam Kher's bank, Rannvijay's confession and a few more. The camera work is neat and stylish.
Negative Points : -
Though the plot and story is good the screenplay is not balanced. First half is pacey where as second half is loose. Climax is confusing. Even though the film's director Gurmmeet Singh has tried his level best to weave a story spanning the life of a middle class working professional, the essence of the same still seems to be lost in transit.
Technical Point : -
Music is not up to the mark. Editing is not good. Camera work is good and stylish.
Overall it’s a good film and can be watched for Zayed’s hard and honest effrorts, director Gurmeet’s simple story telling and a good plot.
