Verdict : BABY is one of the finest films ever made in the history of Indian cinema ________________________________________________________________________

'A Wednesday' and 'Special 26', Both the films established Neeraj Pandey as one of the promising and looked after director from our Hindi cinema. The cinema lovers loved the twist and hard hitting presentation in Neeraj's films and wanted to seem more films from this talented film director. Thus, right from the day of the making till the release of the first promo of his latest film 'Baby', there was a huge amount of anticipation associated with it. This film stars Anupam Kher, Tapsee Pannu, Kay Kay Menon, Danny Denzongpa and Rana Daggubati and has hits the theatres today. Film produced by Cape of Good Films and Crouching Tiger, So let's find out whether 'Baby' will add as one more feather in Neeraj's cap or might be a victim of over expectation associated with the film.

The story of the film revolves around a secret undercover unit called ‘Baby’, which is headed by Feroz Ali Khan (Danny Denzongpa). This undercover group has till date stopped many terrorists attacks in the country and has also imprint fear in the minds of various other terrorist groups.

Ajay (Akshay Kumar) is the part of the ‘Baby’ team and on their last mission, they have to stop a large group of terrorists. Ajay manages to learns about a big plan of ISI and in turn gets to know about the various plots which are worked upon by the mastermind of the terrorist group, Maulana Mohammad Rahman (Rasheed Naaz).

To reach the mastermind, Ajay has to defeat Javed (Sushant Singh), Bilal (Kay Kay Menon) and others in the process. Ajay is helped by two other officers, Shukla (Anupam Kher), Jai (Rana Daggubati) and Priya (Taapsee Pannu), who are also a part of Baby. What happens with their final mission? Will they successfully cease the terrorists group ? That forms the rest of the story.

Positive Points:-

Khiladi Akshay Kumar sure has found his forte. The actor’s serious roles have always proved a success point for him and with ‘Baby’ too, he has performed exceptionally well. Danny Denzongpa is amazing with his role as the Chief of the unit. Taapsee Pannu has justified her character, even with a role which was short lived.

Rana Daggubati and Anupam Kher too have given impressive performances. Kay Kay Menon performed his best in an villainous role. The story of the film written by Neeraj Pandey is extremely expressive and intriguing. It will certainly leave a lasting impression.

Negative Points:-

The only little issue with the movie is its climax, which is a little over simplified and gives a downer. The viewers get into the habit of seeing Baby in trouble from the start and an addition of a few more twists in the climax could have been more interesting.

Technical Points:-

Neeraj Pandey has earlier proved his worth in the field of direction, and he only keeps getting better with every film. His style of narration is authoritative and flawless. He knows his task well and was sure as to what is best for his product. Cinematography by Sudeep Chatterjee is amazing and so is the editing of the film.

The screenplay is tight and in 2 hours and 40 minutes of run time, you would rarely get any time to get your mind diverted. The screenplay is thorough and precise and with no involvement of songs for disturbance, it becomes even more nail-bitting. One cannot help but hoot for every amazingly written dialogue, which brings the story to life.

"The climax is strikingly similar to Argo, but with a little lesser planning and tension But on the whole, BABY is one of the finest films ever made in the history of Indian cinema. Not only because of its excellent cinematic credentials but also because of the balanced 'Thought' behind the film. Neeraj Pandey once again proves that he's a genius."

Baby is an upcoming Indian espionage action thriller film directed by Neeraj Pandey. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Rana Daggubati, Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa Taapsee Pannu, Mikaal Zulfiqar and Madhurima Tuli. The film is scheduled for a January 23, 2015 release.
