The latest edition of Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI kicked off with a spectacular showcase of talent from four promising GenNext designers. Rohitash Notani, Charmee Ambavat, Kriti Greta Singhee, and Shimona Agrawal took center stage, presenting their debut collections that were not only creative but also environmentally conscious and culturally rich.
 
Kriti Greta Singhee set the tone with her collection, 'Third Space-Sustainable Future,' which explored geometric patterns of mathematical art. Using organic, sustainable, and eco-friendly fabrics like hand-woven natural silks and cotton silk from Phulia in Bengal, Kriti's collection emphasized the flow of lines and folds, showcasing a commitment to sustainability.
 
Shimona Agrawal followed with 'Hue,' a collection inspired by the art and history of Banaras. Made from pure handwoven silk, Shimona's ensembles reflected a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern sensibilities, capturing the essence of India's spiritual capital.
 
Charmee Ambavat's brand, The Terra Tribe, presented 'Indigene,' a collection that paid homage to the indigenous tribes of Africa. Using locally manufactured organic cotton, Charmee's collection featured cultural references to the intricately painted mud houses in rural Africa, showcasing a conscious effort towards sustainability and cultural preservation.
 
Rohitash Notani closed the show with his collection, 'Anima and Animus,' under his brand Rosani. Exploring the contrast between conventional masculinity and the sensuality associated with feminine energy, Rohitash's collection featured office wear and uniform fabrics made from cotton drill, embellished with embroidered materials, offering a unique take on contemporary fashion.
