American songwriter and singer Justin Bieber is reportedly being sued by a New-York based photographer for sharing a picture of himself on social media. The shared picture was copyright-protected and owned by Robert Barbera.
According to E! News, the photographer Robert Barbera has filed a lawsuit against Justin for sharing the picture on Instagram without his permission. The lawsuit which was filed on Wednesday in Manhattan federal court, claims that Bieber posted a snap of himself on March 13 without getting proper permission from the photo's owner.
The shared picture reportedly features Bieber sporting a grey shirt in a car with his pal, Rich Wilkerson. "Me and my guy," the 25-year-old star captioned the post.
Barbera in the court documents stated that the case was filed action due to Bieber's "unauthorized reproduction and public display, Barbera is the author of the Photograph and has at all times been the sole owner of all right, title and interest in and to the Photograph, including the copyright thereto,"
Earlier other celebrities like Jennifer Lopez was sued for copyright over a photo she posted to her Instagram Story back in 2017 and recently Gigi Hadid was also sued for sharing a photo of her ex, Zayn Malik.
