Filmmaker Rohit Shetty said making the film was not challenging but holding on it for 18 months for theatrical release was the real challenge.
The fourth installment of Cop universe, Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh and more released in theaters on Diwali with a bang. The film has amassed a whopping 26 Cr on the opening weekend.
During her recent interaction with NewsHelpline, we asked Rohit was the most challenging aspect with Sooryavanshi, he said, “Making the film was not challenging, waiting for 18 months was challenging and holding the film for that long was a big challenge. And I am really happy that film released in cinema halls and audience loved it”
The film opened with commercial success and filmmaker Rohit is nothing but grateful to the entire audience base. He said, “I am happy that so many people have turned up at the theaters. For 19 months nothing releases in theaters and we did took a risk of releasing the film in cinema-hall, and the kind of response and love the film Sooryavanshi is getting, I am overwhelmed and would like to thank all the audiences. Thank you very much”
After Sooryavanshi, director Rohit Shetty has lined-up Cirkus for release. The film is bankrolled by Reliance Entertainment, T-Series and Rohit Shetty Picturez.
The film features Ranveer Singh playing a double role for the first time in his career, with Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde as female leads. It also features Varun Sharma, Siddhartha Jadhav, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Vrajesh Hirjee, Vijay Patkar, Sulbha Arya, Mukesh Tiwari, Anil Charanjeett, Ashwini Kalsekar and Murli Sharma in supporting roles. It is the official adaptation of the 1982 movie Angoor which was based on William Shakespeare's play The Comedy of Errors.
